This blog post walks through how to focus on the big picture when starting and running a new business.
There is so much going on when starting, running and growing a business that sometimes you forget about what the end goal is.
These are 4 ways that I use to stay focused on the big picture.
In order to run a successful business, you need to set yourself business goals.
Business goals will help you measure your success, and help you to identify where you may have issues that exist in your systems, processes and products.
Goals will also help you chunk down your big picture into realistic, achievable targets.
Set your yourself small goals and make sure that you celebrate your successes.
Spend some time creating a dream board for yourself and your business.
I have two.
The first one is what I want my life to look like as a result of the success of my business.
My second dream board is all about The Flexibility Factory. It includes pictures of my ideal client, what does success of my business look like and the goals of my business.
It reminds me of my WHY…why I am in business and trains my brain on how to focus.
Are you surrounded by people that you can confide in?
Do you have a cheer squad – to help you celebrate your successes and give you encouragement when you stuff it all up?
If the answer is no to either of these questions – you need to find one…stat.
This can be either through industry associations, FaceBook Groups or local business networking events.
Your tribe, or support network will laugh with you, cry with you and most importantly support you as you ride the journey of being a business owner.
They will give you the motivation to keep going.
Music can be so powerful in keeping you motivated and reminding you how to focus.
It has been proven that listening to music can have many positive effects, not only on your mood but also on your mental health.
Including music into your every day routine can help to lift your mood, motivate you and help to relax you.
Pull together a playlist of your favourite songs from iTunes to get you up and moving.
Songs that feature on my playlist include:-
Don’t Stop Believin’ – Rock Of Ages
Roar – Katy Perry
Shake It Off – Taylor Swift
Shut Up and Dance – Walk The Moon
Vogue – Madonna
I Wanna Dance With Somebody – Whitney Houston
